Cabbage aspic

Even a teenager can bake this pie! A quick, unpretentious kapustnik jellied pie made with kefir is very easy to prepare. There is, perhaps, one subtlety. The height of the pie should not be large, otherwise the dough will not bake. My pan bottom size is 20x20 cm with an upward extension.

For dinner I baked aspic cabbage according to this recipe. I made the filling in advance. I liked the way the cabbage was cut into squares, it was unusual. I cut the onion into cubes and grated the carrots on a coarse grater. I fried everything until done and cooled. I didn’t add eggs; children don’t like this addition. For the dough, I replaced kefir with fermented baked milk, but otherwise I took everything according to the recipe. The dough turned out like thick sour cream. The pie was baked for 40 minutes until golden brown. It turned out tasty and satisfying. The pie is no worse than a yeast pie, it is well baked and the filling is juicy.
