STEP 1
How to make layer pie with cabbage? Prepare your food. My dough is homemade, yeast-free. You can take store-bought. With or without yeast, it makes no difference, take what you like, it doesn’t matter. If the dough is frozen, defrost it first by transferring it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Use greens to taste. For me it's dill.
STEP 2
Prepare the filling. How to make the filling? Pour cold water over the eggs and cook over low heat. Cook for about 10 minutes after boiling, then cool by pouring cold water.
STEP 3
Finely chop the cabbage.
STEP 4
Heat a frying pan, add butter and melt it. Place the cabbage and cover the pan with a lid. Fry the cabbage, stirring occasionally, over low heat for about 15-20 minutes. It should reduce in volume by half and become soft. Turn off the heating. Cool the cabbage completely.
STEP 5
Peel the eggs. cut into fairly large cubes.
STEP 6
Wash the greens well, dry and finely chop.
STEP 7
Place cooled cabbage, eggs, herbs in a large bowl, add salt, pepper, sugar.
STEP 8
Mix well. Taste for salt and add if necessary. The filling should be well salted, because puff pastry is not salted. Our filling is ready.
STEP 9
Roll out the puff pastry on a table sprinkled with flour. You should get a rectangle, 60 by 40 cm. The thickness of the layer is about 5 mm.
STEP 10
Place the filling in the center of the rectangle, stepping back 10 cm from the edge. Smooth it out.
STEP 11
Fold the edges toward the center, covering the filling. Pinch the seam. Fold the remaining dough over.
STEP 12
Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the pie on it, seam side down. Cut out decorations from the remaining dough as desired. Make holes in the center to allow steam to escape. You can not decorate with anything and make oblique cuts like a herringbone.
STEP 13
Beat the yolk with a fork, you can add a little water or milk. Brush the top of the cake with a brush. You can sprinkle the pie with sesame seeds.
STEP 14
Bake the pie for about 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 190 degrees until golden brown. Remove the finished pie, cool slightly, and serve, cut into portions. Bon appetit!
