A pie with cabbage
To prepare the filling in the classic version, cabbage leaves are used. It is tasty as a single component and goes well with mushrooms, meat, onions, carrots and other vegetables if the housewife wants to experiment. Recipes for cabbage pies are simple and understandable even for a culinary novice. Traditional kapustnik is baked from yeast dough. Eggs and butter are added to the dough, the mass is kneaded several times and divided into 2 parts.
The first one is rolled out and placed in a mold, the prepared sautéed filling is placed on it and covered with the rest of the flour mass. The edges of the future pie are carefully pinched so that the inner contents do not fall out. Some housewives leave a piece of dough and lay out a beautiful pattern on the surface of the cabbage. Baked goods are served cold or hot. It is especially pleasant to eat it with sour cream and sweet tea. Cabbage pie is very filling; the whole family can eat it at lunch. It stays fresh for a long time and retains a pleasant aroma.
