Broccoli and chicken pie
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake broccoli and chicken pie? First, prepare the necessary ingredients for preparing the dough. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it softens a little.
STEP 2
Sift the flour together with baking powder. Read about all the nuances of working with soda in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Add salt and mix. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with oxygen, and the dough will turn out more tender and airy.
STEP 3
Add butter to flour. Using your hands, rub the butter into the flour until crumbly. Do this quickly so that the butter does not start to melt from the heat of your hands, this will make the dough more flaky.
STEP 4
Pour cream into the butter-flour mixture. Knead the dough quickly. It will be enough for all the ingredients to be mixed and the dough can be rolled into a ball.
STEP 5
Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for an hour.
STEP 6
Prepare the ingredients for the filling. The chicken for the filling is already boiled, I use thigh fillet, you can use any part. Broccoli frozen. If the broccoli is fresh, separate it into florets.
STEP 7
Peel the onion and cut into cubes.
STEP 8
Cut the chicken into small pieces.
STEP 9
Heat a frying pan and pour oil into it. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place the onion on the heated oil and stir. At the same time, boil water in a saucepan, salt it and add the broccoli. Cook the broccoli for about 5 minutes.
STEP 10
Add chicken to the onion fried until transparent. Fry the chicken with onions for about 5 minutes. Place the broccoli in a colander to drain the water.
STEP 11
Add cabbage to chicken and stir. Turn off the heat. The filling is ready.
STEP 12
Prepare ingredients for filling the pie.
STEP 13
Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
STEP 14
Beat eggs with cream with a whisk.
STEP 15
Add grated cheese, salt and pepper to the egg-cream mixture. Stir.
STEP 16
Turn the oven on 180 degrees. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Roll it out into a circle slightly larger in diameter than your baking dish. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 17
Place the dough in the mold, form the sides.
STEP 18
Place the filling on the dough.
STEP 19
Pour the egg-cheese mixture over the filling and use a spatula to smooth it over the entire surface.
STEP 20
Bake the pie in the oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Bon appetit!
