Jellied cabbage-carrot pie made from mayonnaise dough
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Let's prepare the ingredients for the pie according to the list. Since the dough for the jellied pie is prepared very quickly, let's start by preparing the filling. We clean the white cabbage from the outer dry leaves and finely chop the cabbage with a knife or shredder.
STEP 2
To make the cabbage filling of the pie more tasty and aromatic, add carrots and onions to the cabbage. Wash the carrots, peel and grate them. Peel the onions and finely chop them with a knife.
STEP 3
Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat it and place the cooked vegetables on the oil. Fry the carrots and onions over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly with a spatula.
STEP 4
Then add the shredded white cabbage to the frying pan with the vegetables. Stir in the vegetables and fry for about 5 more minutes. Pour a couple of tablespoons of water into the pan with vegetables, add salt to taste, stir.
STEP 5
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the cabbage for 10 minutes. Remove the lid, stir again, and keep the vegetables on the fire for another 5 minutes. Turn off the fire.
STEP 6
Mix the dough with mayonnaise. Beat a chicken egg into a deep bowl. Add mayonnaise and salt to taste. Beat the ingredients with a whisk or mixer until they turn into a homogeneous mixture.
STEP 7
Add baking powder (it can be replaced with soda slaked with vinegar) and add sifted wheat flour.
STEP 8
Knead the dough to a consistency similar to thick sour cream.
STEP 9
Grease the pie pan with butter. Pour the third part of the dough into the mold.
STEP 10
We spread the cabbage filling on top; it is better to leave a little space from the sides without filling so that the pie is completely closed. Pour the remaining dough onto the cabbage filling.
STEP 11
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. We bake the pie for about 30 minutes, but you need to focus on the operation of your oven, the volume of the mold and the size of the pie. When the pie is ready, use a wooden toothpick; it should come out dry. The pie is ready. We take it out of the mold and serve it with tea, coffee or cocoa. Enjoy your tea!
