It’s hard to imagine, but such a popular root vegetable as carrots, in its wild, uncultivated form, often has a pale root and a bitter taste. And previously it was grown only for its leaves and seeds. Carrots in the form we are familiar with were obtained through long-term selection. Nowadays this crop is grown all over the world and is of great economic importance.
