  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake chicken legs with rice in the oven? Very simple. First, prepare the necessary ingredients. When using a prepared spice mixture, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt and pepper, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting and peppering the dish.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear. You can use any rice you like, round or long grain, steamed or for pilaf.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Wash the chicken drumsticks, dry them and place in a bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the garlic and pass through a press.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Sprinkle chicken with chicken spices, salt and ground pepper. Pour in 3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil, add garlic. Mix everything well and leave to marinate for 1 hour.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

While the chicken is marinating, heat the remaining vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add carrots and cook, stirring over medium heat until soft.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Add washed rice to the pan and mix with carrots. Salt and pepper everything and mix again. Fry everything together, stirring, for another 2-3 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place rice and carrots in a baking dish and smooth out. It is advisable to take a mold with high sides, since the rice increases in size when baked. I had a large form and the rice was distributed in a thin layer, so this form was enough.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Carefully pour clean water over the rice. You may need a little more water.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the marinated drumsticks on top. They should be in the water approximately halfway through.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Cover the pan with foil and place in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 1-1.5 hours. I also recommend placing a piece of foil or parchment under the pan. After 50 minutes, check the rice for doneness and presence of water. If necessary, carefully add a little more water and bake until the rice is cooked. Determine the time and temperature based on your oven.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Then remove the foil and return the pan to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is golden brown. If there is a grill mode, then it is better to turn it on. Bon appetit!

Again my favorite dinner option) The children are absolutely delighted! We ate everything at once, this is a significant indicator of a successful dish. I use rice for pilaf, it holds its shape well. I liked the option of pre-frying the carrots and rice; the rice turned out fluffy and rich in carrot oil. And then I soaked it in delicious chicken juices. So we all liked the side dish even more than everyone’s favorite chicken legs. Although the legs are also very tasty, juicy and tender. I marinated them in a mixture of chicken seasoning and tomato paste. The seasoning clearly contained some curry, so the meat was not only tasty and spicy, but also incredibly aromatic. Bake covered until rice and chicken are done. It’s convenient to cook dinner this way; the oven does most of the work) Now this is the most favorite dish in our family.
