    How to make cutlets in the oven like in kindergarten? Prepare your ingredients. Minced meat, usually only beef. White bread, about 1 - 2 slices, milk - to soak the bread in it. To add to the minced meat you need onion (1 onion), garlic (1 - 2 cloves), they will need to be twisted together with the minced meat in a meat grinder, I have the minced meat already twisted with onions and garlic. Salt and spices to taste. Instead of breadcrumbs, you can use flour, corn grits, or semolina.

    Break white bread into pieces and soak in milk. Pour in enough milk to completely cover the bread. Then squeeze out the bread and add to the minced meat.

    Grind the minced meat together with the soaked white bread again in a meat grinder. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 - 200 degrees.

    Form cutlets from the prepared minced meat with wet hands, roll them on all sides in breadcrumbs. Grease a baking sheet or mold with medium sides with vegetable oil or cover with baking paper. Place the prepared cutlets in the pan. Place the pan with the cutlets in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. The cutlets must “grab” so that they hold their shape and do not spread.

    Peel and chop the onion and carrots: grate the carrots on a coarse grater, cut the onion as desired (I cut it into half rings). Lightly fry the onions and carrots in a frying pan. Then add hot water or broth (my cutlets took about 400 ml), add a little salt and pepper, and stir.

    Pour the prepared filling with vegetables over the cutlets, add bay leaf. Place the pan with the cutlets back in the oven for 40 minutes or until the cutlets are golden brown.

    Serve the cutlets hot. Mashed potatoes, boiled buckwheat or pasta are suitable as a side dish. When placing cutlets on a plate, be sure to add vegetables and gravy to them.

The recipe for cutlets in the oven, just like in kindergarten, interested me in the cooking technology. Instead of frying, they are baked in the oven with the addition of a filling made from sautéed vegetables, bay leaves and water. It took me about 1 hour to bake the cutlets, longer than in the recipe (due to the peculiarities of my oven). During this time, the cutlets became juicy and tasty, saturated with vegetable juices and the aroma of bay leaves, but the meat in them remained elastic. My husband, having tried the cutlets, without knowing the name of the recipe, called them Soviet. Well, we went to kindergarten in Soviet times. Thank you very much for the recipe!
