Pollock with carrots and onions
To make pollock with carrots as tasty as possible, you should pay special attention to the choice of fish - first of all. It's no secret that it is almost impossible to find fresh fish of this type in stores - it is usually sold frozen. And the manufacturers are Russia or China (since the goods of the third manufacturer, Japan, do not enter our market). Ice on the fish should not exceed four percent of the total weight. And its length is less than 20 centimeters. The fillet should have a strictly white color, without any yellowness, without spots. If the product is purchased in a package, the composition may only contain water and polyphosphate E452 (which, by the way, is prohibited in European countries).
All recipes for pollock with carrots involve the addition of onions. The fish can be baked in the oven, fried in a pan or stewed - with or without the addition of sauce. Vegetables can be used as a “pillow” or as part of a gravy.
Cooking in a frying pan is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, the usual vegetable frying is prepared with carrots, onions, tomato paste, sour cream, and spices. The products selected for it may be different. Separately, pollock is fried in flour or breading. Then the fish is added to the vegetables, everything is carefully mixed and simmered over low heat until cooked. The result is a fish dish with a hot side dish. Very juicy and tasty, suitable for baby and diet food.
Cooking in the oven also requires roasting of vegetables. You can add pasta and sour cream to them if desired. But some kind of liquid must be present. A layer of grated and fried vegetables is placed in the mold. On it - pieces of pollock or its fillet. On top - frying, then fish again. The top part is vegetable. Everything is closed tightly with a lid, which can be replaced with foil. And bake at 180C for about half an hour. The dish also turns out very juicy and tender.
