Smazhenka with sausage

Seeing this pizza, Italians will be jealous. Wikipedia says that pizza is the Italian national dish. So, smazhenka is a Belarusian national dish, an analogue of pizza and our answer to the Italians. I recommend you try it!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Preparing yeast dough. Beat eggs with sugar and salt in a deep bowl, add warm water, mix. Sift the flour, add dry yeast. Mix the yeast so that it does not touch the liquid. Knead the dough; it will be sticky. Add vegetable oil and knead. The dough will become less sticky. Form the dough into a ball, cover it with a napkin or cling film and let it rise in a warm place for an hour.

A wonderful recipe for sausage gravy! I ended up with a soft sticky dough. After proofing, it remained sticky, so I did not roll it out with a rolling pin, but formed the cakes with my hands greased with vegetable oil. The filling turned out to be very tasty - instead of bacon and boiled sausage, I used finely chopped sausages, which I combined with fried mushrooms, onions, herbs, sour cream, and added bell pepper and grated tomato. But I forgot to add eggs to the filling, and I didn’t have tomato paste for greasing the dough at home (the option of greasing the flatbreads with chopped tomato or juice did not work in this case). The results were very tasty, very similar to small pizzas. From half of the indicated ingredients I got 5 flat cakes with a diameter of approximately 15-16 cm. I liked the recipe, thank you!
