Green onion and egg pie
Quite rarely, only green onions are used in the filling for snack pies. As a rule, chopped boiled egg is added to it. This is the most popular combination in this type of dish. Recipes for pie with green onions may also include: cheese, mushrooms, minced meat (fish, chicken, meat), spinach, cabbage.
The fastest way to prepare a pie is to mix the jellied dough for it. In this case, you will not have to waste time on rolling out and forming the base for the pie, as well as on decorating it. It is enough to pour half of the dough into a greased form, lay out the prepared filling and fill with the other half. Then bake in the oven or slow cooker according to the recommendations in the recipe.
The dough can be prepared with kefir - this is the most classic and easiest way to get airy, tender pulp with a minimum of time and effort. Also popular is onion pie made from puff pastry, which you can either make yourself or buy. If, in principle, you like to tinker with cooking and enjoy it, you can make a yeast holiday pie with dough patterns. The latter is prepared according to any universal recipe for yeast baking using sponge and straight methods.
For the pie filling, take fresh green onions (namely arrows), chop finely, but not too much. Boil the eggs, chop with a knife until crumbs (also not too fine). Mix everything and salt to taste. The filling is ready. As you can see, it remains “falling apart,” so the ideal design for it is jellied dough. Then the pulp prevents the onion and egg from spreading and falling out and holds it securely in the pie.
