Roll with onion and egg in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a roll with green onions and eggs in the oven? First, prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. The dough is kneaded with yeast, but in a quick, non-steamed way. Remove the kefir from the refrigerator in advance; it should be warm.
STEP 2
Pour a glass of kefir into a bowl, add sugar and salt and stir until the crystals dissolve. Add dry yeast and stir well until it also dissolves in the liquid. Add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil to the mixture. Sift the flour. Thanks to this, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished dough will turn out fluffier and airier.
STEP 3
Add the sifted flour in parts, stirring the mixture with a spoon until the dough is well mixed. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. The dough should be elastic, not very tight, but it should stop sticking to the walls of the bowl. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and place in a warm place for half an hour.
STEP 4
Meanwhile, make the filling for the roll. Boil chicken eggs hard. For information on how to do this, follow the link at the end of the recipe. It’s good to do this in advance so that they are cold when the baked goods are ready.
STEP 5
Wash the green onions well, dry and finely chop.
STEP 6
Peel the boiled eggs and chop not very finely with a knife. Place the onions and eggs in one bowl, add salt to taste and mix. The onion should release juice and the egg-onion mass should become softer.
STEP 7
The dough has risen and is ready to work. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.
STEP 8
Dust the table with flour. Roll out the finished dough into a rectangular layer.
STEP 9
Place the egg and onion filling on the dough.
STEP 10
The top of the filling can be greased with sour cream. Then, after baking, the filling in the roll will be juicier and more delicate in taste.
STEP 11
Roll the dough with filling into a roll and place in a greased pan. Brush the roll with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the roll for about 30 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 12
Serve the roll with green onions and eggs hot with tea or coffee. This pastry is very filling, so it can replace lunch or dinner. Bon appetit!
