Fish pie with rice
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a pie with rice and canned fish in the oven? First, prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Instead of tuna, you can take other canned food to your taste or make a pie from pre-boiled red fish: salmon, trout, etc. Remove kefir from the refrigerator in advance so that it warms up to room temperature. Add sugar and yeast to kefir, stir and leave for 5-10 minutes. The sugar will dissolve and the yeast will disperse.
STEP 2
Pour in the vegetable oil, add salt and stir again.
STEP 3
Sift the flour through a sieve. Thanks to sifting, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished dough will be softer and more airy. Add half the flour to the liquid ingredients and start kneading the dough.
STEP 4
Add the rest of the flour in parts, kneading into a smooth dough on a lightly floured surface. You may need a little more or a little less flour than the specified amount. Focus on the consistency of the dough. Leave the dough to rise for 40 minutes on the counter, covered with a towel, or transfer it to a bowl and cover with cling film.
STEP 5
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the filling. Rinse the rice well and boil it according to the instructions on the package. Let the finished rice cool. Boil the eggs hard. Peel the boiled eggs and cut into small cubes. Wash the green onions, dry and finely chop. Open the can of tuna and place the canned food in a strainer to drain the liquid.
STEP 6
Mix rice, tuna, eggs and onion in a bowl. Add salt to taste.
STEP 7
Grease a round baking dish (I have a springform pan with a diameter of 16.5 cm) with vegetable oil and place the dough into it, which must first be kneaded on the table with your hands into a large cake with a diameter larger than the pan to form sides.
STEP 8
Place the filling on the dough.
STEP 9
Close the pie using the sides, pinching them well in the middle.
STEP 10
Leave the cake to rise for about 20 minutes. For the dough, turn the oven on to 170 degrees. Brush the pie with egg yolk mixed with milk.
STEP 11
Bake the pie in the oven at 170 degrees for about 30 minutes. The exact time and temperature will depend on your oven. If your oven bakes unevenly, after 15 minutes, rotate the pie pan 180 degrees to obtain an even brown color. Remove the finished fish pie with rice from yeast dough from the mold, cool slightly and serve. Bon appetit!
