Egg Pie
For a classic egg pie, the filling is prepared as follows: hard-boil chicken eggs. Cut into cubes. Mixed with green onions or any other additional ingredient, which may be: cheese, cottage cheese, boiled rice, sausage, sorrel, spinach, other greens, canned corn. There are many variations, all of them limited only by imagination.
Eggs can also go into the pie raw. In this case, it is prepared in the manner of Adjarian khachapuri, similar in shape to boats with fried eggs and cheese on top. An example of cooking is this: puff pastry is cut into squares or rectangles, not too small in size. The core is cut out of the second layer of dough, it is placed on top of the first, turning into sides. Between the layers, spread with beaten egg so that they do not fall apart during cooking. An egg is driven into the cavity. And the pie is immediately baked in an oven preheated to 180C. This will take 10-15 minutes. Eggs can be sprinkled with grated cheese or chopped herbs.
Another interesting version of egg pie is this: the dough is rolled out into a long layer. Boiled eggs are placed in the middle. The dough is rolled into something like a roll. When cut, it comes out beautifully when finished. True, this method of cooking requires certain skills and experience - not everyone can do it.
And finally, the easiest, fastest and simplest option, which will require any batter except puff pastry and shortbread. Boiled eggs are cut into pieces and mixed into the dough. Then pour it into a greased mold and bake it in the oven, slow cooker, bread maker - your choice.
