STEP 1
Let's start preparing the pie with potatoes and onions by preparing the filling. To do this, wash the potato tubers and peel them. Let's also peel the onion.
STEP 2
Finely chop the potato tubers into slices. For convenience, you can use a special grater-shredder so that the slices are all the same thickness.
STEP 3
Place a saucepan with a small amount of water on the stove and bring to a boil. Place the potatoes in boiling water for one to two minutes. Remove and allow excess water to drain. Thinly sliced potatoes in boiling water will become half cooked. This simple technique ensures that the potatoes in the pie are perfectly cooked.
STEP 4
Finely chop the onion and fry until slightly golden in a small amount of vegetable oil.
STEP 5
Now let's make the pie dough. In a deep bowl, mix mayonnaise, chicken eggs, kefir, soda, 2 tablespoons of sugar, a spoonful of soda and a pinch of salt.
STEP 6
The amount of flour depends on the thickness of kefir and mayonnaise; the recipe stipulates that the resulting dough should have the consistency of pancakes. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.

Sift flour into the resulting mass and knead the dough.

Grease a baking dish in the oven with vegetable oil. Pour exactly half of the dough into the mold and level it with a spatula.
STEP 9
Place half of the potatoes on this dough and distribute evenly throughout the dough.
STEP 10
Place fried onions on potatoes, add salt and sprinkle with thyme. You can add other potato seasonings that suit your taste.
STEP 11
Then distribute the rest of the potatoes evenly.
STEP 12
Pour the rest of the dough on top of the potatoes and level it with a spatula.
STEP 13
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and place the baking dish on the middle shelf. Bake the pie for 30-40 minutes. You can check the readiness of the pie with a toothpick by poking a small hole in the dough. If there are any lumps on the toothpick, bake a little more time.
