Shortcrust pastry pie with potatoes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Products for making pie. The flour has already been sifted. The onions are peeled and washed. The potatoes are thoroughly washed with a brush, but not peeled. First of all, we set it to boil in its uniform.
STEP 2
While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the pie dough. Combine most of the flour and margarine (or butter) cut into pieces. Chop well with a knife to make crumbs. Dissolve salt and soda in kefir. This process is accompanied by a violent reaction - the volume of kefir will increase, so we take a spacious container for it.
STEP 3
We make a depression in the resulting flour crumbs on the table and pour in the kefir mass in parts, mix everything thoroughly. The dough should absorb all the kefir, so add flour as needed and continue kneading.
STEP 4
Finally, our dough can be rolled into a bun. If there is not enough flour, you can add it, but not a lot, otherwise the dough will turn out rough! (Usually, on the contrary, I use a little less flour, about half a glass is left for dusting the table when rolling out the dough). While we are making the filling, the prepared dough can be put in the refrigerator.
STEP 5
Cut the onion into cubes, fry in vegetable oil until golden brown, and add oregano at the end.
STEP 6
Peel the potatoes, boiled in their jackets, crush them, add a little salt and pepper. Add fried onions and grated cheese. Mix everything thoroughly. The filling is ready!
STEP 7
Divide the dough into 2 parts. Using a rolling pin, roll out each piece of dough to the size of the mold or baking sheet. Cut off excess pieces of dough and combine them into a ball.
STEP 8
Grease the cake pan with butter or line it with oiled baking paper. Transfer the rolled out first part of the dough onto a rolling pin directly into the mold. We make low sides and lay out the filling. Carefully level it out.
STEP 9
Then cover the filling with the second part of the dough. We pinch the edges of the pie and carefully fold the resulting seam. We make random punctures with a fork in the dough over the entire surface of the pie so that there are no unsightly, uneven swellings on the finished product.
STEP 10
To make the appearance of the pie more beautiful, whisk the milk and egg in a cup. Grease the pie with this mixture. Roll out the remaining dough and cut out hearts or other cookie cutters.
STEP 11
We place the decorations in any order at our discretion on the surface of the pie and grease them with the egg-milk mixture. Finally, we send the cake to bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees, after 15 minutes. reduce to 180 degrees. When the cake is browned and delicious aromas are floating around the kitchen, open the oven door and check its readiness with a toothpick.
STEP 12
We take the finished pie out of the oven (I baked it for 40 minutes), cut it, prepare tea, coffee or other drinks, and invite everyone to the kitchen!
