Squid salad with egg
To ensure that the squid in the salad does not have a rubbery taste and consistency, you need to learn how to cook them correctly. If you don’t want to bother with cooking, it’s better to play it safe and take canned ones. Let’s not get distracted by how to clean these sea creatures, fortunately, you will be given instructions on this topic in the recipe itself. In short, you need to cut off everything inedible from the carcasses, leaving everything edible. Among the first: mouth, entrails, tentacles (if you don’t decide to use them too), skin.
You can cook them in several ways, we will describe one. Place the carcasses in a pan with cold water, heat it over medium heat, add salt after three minutes. After boiling, immediately turn off the stove and remove the squid with a slotted spoon. The most important thing here is not to overcook the tender meat, because it tends to become the sole of a soldier’s boot, that is, very hard and unchewable.
Next, the meat needs to be dried, cooled and then cut in any chosen way. More often this is a thin strip - this way the squid will look better in the salad and go well with the grated egg.
To get a classic dish that is popular on any table, add cucumbers, onions and mayonnaise to the two main products. But salad with eggs and squid can be supplemented with any other products; there are a lot of variations. There are recipes with and without sauces, healthier, healthier or, conversely, nutritious and high in calories.
