Pies with milk
When it comes to pies, warm memories of childhood, home, and comfort immediately come to mind. When the aroma of freshly prepared pastries fills the whole house, and you know that at any moment you can go to the kitchen, pour yourself some tea and devour a delicious pie with gusto!
The so-called pie dough can be prepared in a dozen, if not a hundred, different ways. This section contains recipes for milk pies with step-by-step photos - for clarity and the best opportunity to repeat the entire process after the author without errors. Among them there are also different options: with and without yeast, with the addition of water, and so on.
The simplest recipe for dough for pies with milk, in addition to the declared product, includes: premium wheat flour, flour, soda, salt and vegetable oil. Instead of baking soda, you can use baking powder. It is better not to bake pies using this dough, but to fry them in a frying pan or in a slow cooker. Before kneading, it is better to sift the flour through a fine sieve to saturate it with oxygen as much as possible. The consistency of the dough should be such that it can be conveniently rolled out into a thin layer, so that it holds its shape and does not fall apart during or after modeling.
The yeast version of the dough for pies consists of the same products, only yeast, dry or fresh, is added to it. It is important to remember that the volume of yeast will be different: you will need less dry yeast, more fresh. In other variations, the following can be added to the dough: eggs, butter.
Many people prefer pies with a thin base - for them, the dough is rolled out as thin as possible, and more filling is added. But it is quite acceptable to make a “thicker” base, especially if the product is planned to be baked. In this case, it is advisable to choose yeast dough.
The filling for milk pies can be: vegetable, fruit, mushroom, meat, curd, egg, jam, marmalade, caramel, boiled condensed milk, chocolate paste.
