  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake pies with jam in the oven from yeast dough? Prepare all the necessary ingredients to prepare the dough. Take thicker milk, the dough will only benefit from it. Use premium flour. You can use any jam for pies: apple, pear, plum, apricot. I have aromatic strawberry.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Warm the milk slightly in the microwave on medium power or on the stove over low heat, stirring constantly. It should be slightly warm, a little warmer than body temperature. If you overcook the milk, it will overheat and the yeast in the hot milk will die, causing the dough to not rise. Read about all the intricacies of working with yeast in a separate article (link at the end of the recipe).

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour some warm milk into a bowl, add sugar, salt and dry yeast. Stir the mixture and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes to activate the yeast. If a foamy cap appears on the surface, then the yeast is fresh and you can continue cooking.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

In a deep bowl, mix the remaining milk and eggs.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sift some of the flour into a bowl and stir the mixture until smooth. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished dough will turn out more tender and fluffy.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour in the yeast mixture and mix everything well again.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Sift the remaining flour into a bowl in parts and knead into a soft, elastic dough, adding a little more flour if necessary. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Cover the dough with a towel and leave warm for 30-40 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Punch down the risen dough and divide into small equal pieces. I got 20 pieces.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Lightly roll a piece of dough into a circle with a rolling pin or simply stretch it with your hands. There is no need to roll it out too thin, otherwise the dough will tear and the filling will leak out. Place 1-2 tsp in the center of the circle. jam.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Bring the edges of the dough together and seal thoroughly. Make all the other pies in the same way. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet at a short distance from each other and leave to rise for 10 minutes. You can choose the right parchment paper by reading a separate article about the features of parchment, the link is at the end of the recipe. If you bake without parchment directly on a baking sheet, then you need to grease it with vegetable oil.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

To grease the pies you will need a yolk and a little milk..

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Combine the yolk with milk and mix.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Using a brush, brush the pies with yolk. Bake the pies with jam in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 25 minutes until golden brown. The exact time and temperature will vary depending on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, the link is at the end of the recipe. If you need a darker golden brown crust, it is better to leave the pies in the cooling oven for 5-7 minutes.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Pies with jam are ready. Cool them slightly and serve. While the pies are hot, the jam inside is quite liquid, but as it cools it thickens slightly. Bon appetit!

I haven't baked with yeast dough for a long time. My daughter asked for sweet pies, so I had to bake them) I used apple jam. By the way, it took me less than in the recipe. The dough turned out soft and fragrant. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t mold the pie shape; the jam got on the edges of the dough and it didn’t stick together. Therefore, I made a different mold with an open middle) The pies according to this recipe are very tasty, even on the second day they remained soft and just as tasty! A wonderful recipe for yeast baked goods!
