Pies in the oven with kefir are like fluff

Soft, airy, made from simple ingredients, incredibly delicious! Pies baked in the oven from kefir dough cook very quickly because they do not contain yeast, which means you don’t have to wait two hours for the dough to rise. They can be made with any filling, and the dough turns out soft as fluff!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pies in the oven with kefir like fluff? First of all, prepare the dough. How to make the dough? Pour room temperature kefir into a deep bowl, add salt and sugar, stir. Kefir is suitable for any fat content.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sift the flour through a fine sieve (this will enrich it with oxygen and the baked goods will be more fluffy), add baking powder to it, and mix thoroughly several times.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add vegetable oil (refined, odorless) to kefir. Stir.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gradually adding flour to the kefir-oil mixture, knead the dough. Be prepared that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. It should turn out homogeneous, elastic and soft. Gather the dough into a ball and cover with cling film or a kitchen towel. Leave for 30 minutes at room temperature.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Divide the finished dough into 12 parts, forming dough balls.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Form the pies in a familiar and convenient way for you. Take one ball of dough, roll it into a plate with a rolling pin, put the filling in the middle, pinch the dough on top, hiding the filling in it. To prevent your hands from sticking to the dough and rolling pin, you can periodically dip them in flour. I suggest making pies with a “string” on top.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. To make the pies golden brown, brush them with yolk on top; if the yolk is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk to it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the pies for 20-25 minutes until browned. The exact time will depend on the features of your oven. Cool the finished pies and serve. Bon appetit!

Kefir pies are a good alternative to yeast baked goods. My favorite pies are with apples and raisins.

Today I cooked pies in the oven with kefir like a feather. I used baking soda as a baking powder. I kneaded the dough and let it stand in cling film. For the filling I took quince jam. I divided the dough into equal parts and made eleven pies. I brushed them with yolk on top. The pies turned out beautiful, golden brown and very tasty. The dough is really very soft! Everyone at home really liked it! Thanks to the author for the recipe!

I don’t know what went wrong, but the pies were not a success at all and they looked gloomy. But thanks for the recipe, at least I tried something new
