Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 2 hr 20 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Required ingredients for the dough

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Beat egg with sugar

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add salt and beat a little more

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour in warm milk. It is better to take milk that is not very fatty, 1.5% will be enough. If the milk is homemade, it is better to dilute it with water 50:50

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Mix dry yeast with flour

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Now combine the dry and liquid ingredients and mix

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

    Add the oil last

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Using a spoon and then using your hands, knead the dough. This is a very important stage, the quality of our baked goods depends on it. You need to knead for 10-15 minutes, as they say, “until it stops sticking to your hands.” I usually trust this process to a bread maker, it helps me a lot with this!

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The dough is well kneaded, beautiful, even, smooth and elastic.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Cover the dough with a towel and leave it alone in a warm place for 1 hour.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

And these are the ingredients for the filling. The recipe is not strict - you may need more or less sugar or cherries depending on how sweet you like your pies and how many cherries you can fit in 1 pie

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Wash the cherries and remove the pits; this process does not take long, so it is better to do this when the dough is almost ready

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

After an hour our dough had risen very well.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

The photo shows how airy and porous it is, even though we didn’t use dough, but mixed dry yeast directly with flour - after all, our yeast is fast-acting dry

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Now divide the dough into small balls. I got 20 pieces.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Everything is almost ready - now all that remains is to make our pies

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Knead each piece into a flat cake with your hands and place about 1 table. l. cherries

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

1-2 teaspoons on top. l. Sahara

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

We seal the edges well and get a beautiful pie! We place it with the seam up so that the juice does not flow out of the pie.

  20. STEP 20

    STEP 20

Place the pies on baking parchment greased with a little vegetable oil. If there is no parchment, no problem, just place it on a greased baking sheet

  21. STEP 21

    STEP 21

To grease the pies, lightly beat the egg.

  22. STEP 22

    STEP 22

Brush the pies with egg and they will take on a beautiful shiny golden appearance when baked.

  23. STEP 23

    STEP 23

Place in the oven to prove for about 15 minutes at minimum temperature. During this time the pies will rise well

  24. STEP 24

    STEP 24

Then increase the temperature to 180 degrees and bake until golden brown. Baking time depends on your oven

  25. STEP 25

    STEP 25

Lightly sprinkle the finished pies with some water, cover with a towel and let cool. The aroma is simply magnificent!

  26. STEP 26

    STEP 26

    Enjoy your tea!

Nastenka, as always, delicious, and how... the pies are the only thing where I prefer cherries rather than sweet cherries... If only I could bake just one, or at worst, two pies, that would be great!

nasstin, excellent cherry pies - fluffy and soft! Funny about the oven guard! Of course, who can resist such yummy food? Even the stronger sex is unable to do so; in this case, it turns out to be the weakest! I’ve heard a lot of approving words about the bread machine, but it still seems to me that the dough loves the hands and that’s it! Especially such cute, well-groomed, beautifully manicured fingers! It was even a pity to take the pits out of the cherries like that. Where are the related forces? Not helping? Thank you very much for the recipe! He's great as always!

Thank you very much for the recipe for delicious pies with cherries. I’ll try to make them. It’s very good that the recipe uses a small amount of flour, which is what I need. I’ll replace the cherries with black currants, I love them in pies.

I made the dough according to this recipe - very tasty. Airy, tender. And the filling was made from apples, cinnamon, walnuts and honey. I'm looking forward to Willie's season and I think it will be very tasty with cherries.

Friday Belly Festival!!! Excellent dough. very pleasant to work with. came up very quickly. in 40 minutes. I really liked it!!! I had pies with frozen cherries. And since there weren’t enough cherries, I finished baking them with apricots. Also frozen. I have a different mold, we like this one more. I like it!!! To the author of the recipe.
