Noodles with vegetables
When we talk about noodles with vegetables, we most often mean Chinese instant noodles. The one that doesn’t even require cooking - just pour boiling water over it and leave for a while. In this regard, recipes for noodles with vegetables are mainly borrowed from Chinese cuisine and may contain soy sauce and special spices and seasonings. But this is a matter of personal taste and preference. In principle, from these ingredients you can prepare any dish that does not necessarily correspond to the canons of the inhabitants of the Celestial Empire.
The principle of preparing noodles with vegetables is essentially the same. The vegetables are cooked separately and then mixed with steamed noodles and served hot. The result is a pasta that requires less cooking time.
The selection of vegetables for this dish can be anything: potatoes, zucchini, carrots, onions, bell peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, and so on. Each recipe describes exactly how to prepare them differently. Some require stewing and light frying, while others can be baked in the oven or on the grill. Adding meat is acceptable, but not necessary - the dish is complete on its own.
Vegetables for such noodles do not need to be heat treated at all. They can be marinated in a spicy marinade, cut into long “ropes” on a special Korean grater, or cut in a similar way to noodles. The dish will look more beautiful. Carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, and cucumbers are great for such purposes. And the dish can be served cold, it will look like a salad.
Regular, wide noodles can also be used. True, for this it must first be boiled in boiling salted water.
However, there are options in which the noodles are cooked simultaneously with other products - fried in a frying pan, for example. And there is no need to steam or cook it.
