Peppers stuffed with minced meat and rice in a slow cooker
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make peppers stuffed with minced meat and rice in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. Take enough peppers to fit vertically into the bowl, usually 8 medium-sized pieces. Any minced meat will do, I used pork. Take uncooked rice, I used it already boiled until half cooked.
STEP 2
Peel the onions and carrots. Cut the onion into small cubes, grate the carrots. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan, as well as how to choose the right oil for frying, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place the onion in the oil. Fry it, stirring, for a couple of minutes until transparent. Then add carrots to the onions. Fry the vegetables together for 5 minutes until soft, then cool slightly.
STEP 3
While your roast is cooling, prepare the peppers. Wash them and cut out the center with the seeds. Boil the rice until half cooked. To do this, pour the washed cereal into boiling salted water, stir and leave to cook for 5 minutes at a low boil. Then place the rice in a sieve and cool. Read more about the intricacies of choosing rice in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 4
Add cooled rice and frying to the minced meat. Salt and pepper it. You can also add your favorite spices to taste.
STEP 5
Stir the minced meat until smooth.
STEP 6
Fill the peeled peppers with minced meat.
STEP 7
Place the peppers in the multicooker bowl with the minced side up. I cooked 7 pieces, but it would be better if there were 8 of them, then the peppers would support each other and not fall.
STEP 8
Place the bowl in the multicooker. Pour hot water into it so that it reaches the middle of the peppers. Set the appliance to a program suitable for stewing. I call it “Stewing”. Set the time to at least 1 hour. I like well-cooked peppers, I cook them for 2 hours. The exact time depends on your taste preferences and the operating characteristics of your multicooker. Read more about this in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 9
After the readiness signal, open the lid and add tomato paste and salt to the water in which the peppers were stewed.
STEP 10
Close the lid again and set the program suitable for frying (for me it’s “Baking”). Or another one on which water will boil, for example, “Steaming”. Set the time to 10 minutes. Boil the peppers in the resulting sauce - this way they will turn out juicier, soaked in tomato paste.
STEP 11
Serve the peppers with sour cream or mayonnaise. Bon appetit!
