Homemade potato pancakes with cabbage
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make potato pancakes with cabbage at home? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the potatoes in running water with a brush, peel them.
STEP 2
Pour water into a saucepan, add peeled potatoes, add salt to taste and cook until done.
STEP 3
How to make the filling? Peel the onion, rinse and finely chop.
STEP 4
Wash the carrots in running water with a brush, peel and grate on a coarse or medium grater.
STEP 5
Remove the cabbage from the top leaves and chop it using a special grater.
STEP 6
I chopped half a forkful of cabbage. You can also cut the cabbage thinly with a knife.
STEP 7
Pour vegetable oil into a heated frying pan, add onions and carrots and fry. Next, put the cabbage in the pan, add salt, pour in water, and add tomato paste. Mix everything well and simmer covered until done. 5 minutes was enough for me. Cooking time will depend on the type and age of the cabbage, as well as the desired degree of doneness. Remove the filling from the stove and let cool.
STEP 8
Drain the water from the finished potatoes and let them stand for a while to dry the potatoes. Then mash the potatoes and add the egg.
STEP 9
Add flour to the potatoes and stir everything quickly. I transferred the potatoes to another cup to cool slightly. You may need a little less or more flour. Read about the properties of flour in the article below the steps.
STEP 10
Prepare the cooled filling, potatoes and breadcrumbs.
STEP 11
So, use a spoon to scoop out the mashed potatoes. Make this flatbread from it. It's better to have wet hands. Place the filling in the middle.
STEP 12
And form this pie with your hands. Dip it in breadcrumbs.
STEP 13
Prepare pies from all the potatoes in the same way. Heat oil in a frying pan.
STEP 14
Place the pieces in a frying pan, fry them on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. Place the finished ones on paper towels to drain excess fat. How to choose a frying pan and oil for frying, read the separate articles at the end of this recipe.
STEP 15
Our potato plants are ready! Help yourself!
STEP 16
You can serve with sour cream and any other sauce. Bon appetit!
