Pork with onions
To prepare this dish, pork can be taken from different parts of the carcass and of different sizes: whole piece, steaks, with bones, fillet, cut into small cubes, and so on. The food will ultimately have a different appearance, and its taste will be different. It is better to select any recipes for pork with onions based on the composition of the products and methods of processing the meat. In addition, everyone may have different cooking times, and dramatically.
Pork and onions can not only be, say, fried in a frying pan, but also baked in the oven or cooked in a slow cooker. With a minimum amount of ingredients, this is a moderately simple dish: meat, onions, oil for frying, salt and spices. You can do without marinades or, conversely, use them too. In a more complex version, the listed products are added in different volumes and variations: potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, tomato paste, sour cream, cream. In this case, a simple recipe becomes something from: stew, goulash, roast, casserole, thick sauce.
Frying pork with onions is prepared like this. First, the onion is fried in a heated frying pan with oil and spices. Garlic can be added to it for flavor. Then comes the pork in pieces: cubes, medallions, slices, layers. It is fried with continuous stirring until a golden crust appears. The dish is salted towards the end of the whole process and served hot with or without any side dishes.
You can also stew pork with onions in a frying pan or bake in the oven. To make the meat more juicy before baking, you can fry it without oil over high heat in a non-stick pan. Marinating in vinegar or something else will help “correct” the not-so-pleasant taste of any pork. In addition, pork and onions can be made with or without sauce.
