Minced meat roll
Minced meat for preparing this dish can be understood as any minced mixture: meat, fish, vegetables, offal, raw or boiled. In this case, you can make the minced meat yourself or buy it ready-made in the store. If the roll is supposed to have a rich filling, as a rule, nothing is added to the minced meat except salt, pepper, eggs (or any other “fastening” product such as starch, grated raw potatoes).
The most common version of this dish is minced meat roll, the recipes for which are very diverse. Especially when it comes to design and presentation, and, of course, the filling. For it you can take eggs, mushrooms, vegetables, some fruits, berries, herbs, cheese.
Whatever minced meat option is chosen, the cooking technology will be approximately the same. First, knead it, adding the necessary ingredients. If necessary, beat it on the table surface to make the minced meat more viscous. Then spread out the cling film (you can do it without it, but it’s much more convenient with it). Spread the minced meat on it in an even layer, compacting it on top (you can use a rolling pin). To prevent anything from sticking to your hands, moisten them with water from time to time.
The filling goes on top of the minced meat, evenly. A thin layer - if the roll is thick, and vice versa, if it is wrapped one to one and a half turns. Then you need to very carefully hold the film so that you can wrap the roll with it. It may seem that it is not easy, but in reality it is not - everyone succeeds the first time. The edges of the roll should be free of filling - this way it will better hold its shape and not fall apart.
Place the roll seam side down on a baking sheet or in a greased baking dish. It is the transfer of the roll in the entire preparation that can be considered the most difficult part. In this case, a cutting board with a smooth surface helps, from which the minced meat can slide off without any problems.
Bake the minced meat roll in the oven or slow cooker, using the time in your own oven, from forty minutes to two hours. The estimated temperature is around two hundred degrees.
