Homemade chips
The main component of homemade chips is not only potatoes. Delicious snacks are made from thin Armenian lavash, bananas, meat, apples, cornmeal dough, beets, and carrots. You can diversify your chips recipes with seasonings - choose healthy and natural spices to suit your taste. An interesting choice in Indian and Arabic stores: turmeric, sweet paprika, dried garlic, curry, oregano, or choose a ready-made spice mixture that does not contain flavorings or harmful additives.
How to cook chips yourself Cooking methods vary depending on the heat treatment of the slices: in a frying pan, in a deep fryer, in the oven, in the microwave, in an air fryer. Different devices have different consumption of sunflower oil. When cooking in the first two vessels, you need a larger supply so that the slices float. In other cases, small portions are sufficient. The most difficult stage is cutting the potatoes into thin slices along the entire length - 2-3 mm thick. This problem cannot be solved with a regular knife. You will need a vegetable slicer, a grater with a chopping blade, or a food processor. In industrial conditions, petals are formed from puree, but in the classic recipe, whole pieces are needed. Salt and season the chips only after they are cooked through and removed from the oil.
