Step-by-step preparation

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare all the necessary products. We will need thin lavash, this is usually Armenian lavash. The thinner it is, the better. Absolutely any vegetable oil will do: refined and unprocessed oil. If you want to add a specific taste to the finished chips, take, for example, aromatic sunflower or olive oil. And any oil without a pronounced taste will do: rapeseed, corn, refined sunflower, etc.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Salt the butter, wait until the salt is completely dissolved. The amount of salt is to your taste.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Also add herbs and seasonings to the oil. I took dry spices that are familiar to everyone, without exotic tastes. But it can also be other herbs or seasonings: dried thyme or rosemary will give a unique aroma, smoked paprika - an unforgettable “smoked” taste and aroma, chili pepper - an indescribable spiciness. You can also replace dried spices with fresh herbs, you just need to chop them very finely. Stir until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the pita bread into pieces of the desired shape and size. There is no need to chop it too much - the average length-width is about 2-3 cm. I cut the pita bread into triangles, but it can also be squares or just pieces of an indeterminate shape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the pita bread pieces in a microwave-safe dish. Let me remind you that this can be glass, wood, paper, or porcelain. Under no circumstances should metal objects or utensils with gold-plated elements or designs be used in microwaves. Or you can place pieces of lavash directly on the glass rotating stand of the microwave. Lubricate each piece of lavash with aromatic oil using culinary brushes

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Sprinkle with grated cheese. The cheese can be any: hard, semi-hard, mozzarella and even blue cheese. In principle, you can omit this point and prepare chips without cheese. And cook some chips with cheese, some without cheese.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place a plate of pita bread in the microwave. Cook at power 1000 - 2 minutes, 800 - 3 minutes, 600 - 4 minutes. Be guided by your microwave - the pita bread should be fried and crispy.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

    Very tasty snack. Bon appetit!

I had a sheet of pita bread left over and the children asked me to make chips from it. The process is quick and straightforward, just have time to cut the pita bread and grease it with bright oil. I also love paprika very much, so I added more of it) But there was no dill, so I replaced it with dried basil. I sprinkled one half of the chips with grated cheese and left the other half as is. I cooked for about 2.5 minutes at 750 W, which was quite enough for my chips. Lavash chips are crispy, beautiful, tasty and probably safer than store-bought ones) Both the children and I love such crisps.
