  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make banana chips at home in the oven? Prepare your food. Choose bananas for chips that are not very ripe; fruits with brown spots are not suitable - they are too soft.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the bananas well and dry. Peel them and cut into thin slices. The thinner the pieces, the faster the chips will dry.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, remove the seeds if there are any.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Grease a baking sheet with a small amount of vegetable oil or line it with parchment. Dip each piece in lemon juice to prevent the bananas from darkening when dried. Place the banana slices in a single layer, leaving a little space between them.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Preheat the oven to 65°C. I used the top-bottom mode. You can dry bananas using the convection function, this will help them dry faster. But then you will have to constantly monitor them so that they do not burn. A gas oven is not suitable for this recipe; you will not be able to maintain the temperature at the proper level.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Dry the bananas for about two hours. Look at their condition - they will gradually begin to give up moisture and dry out. You can speed up the drying process if you increase the temperature to 80°-90°C. But then the chips will come out very dark. Instead of a baking sheet, you can use a suitable wire rack - this will also help the bananas dry out faster.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Hot bananas remain a little pliable. Carefully remove them from the pan and let cool. The finished chips will become firmer. If desired, you can sprinkle them with any seasonings or powdered sugar. Store banana chips in an airtight container.

Today I decided to make banana chips at home in the oven. I've always liked dried bananas, but I've never dried them myself. And then I looked at this recipe and realized that it’s not so difficult. For chips I used greenish bananas. It’s easier to cut them into thin slices that won’t fall apart. I didn’t squeeze the juice out of the lemon, but cut off a good slice of lemon and brushed it on both sides of each piece. Dried in a gas oven on a wire rack lined with parchment paper. I placed it in the highest position in the oven. I turned on the gas to the lowest level and left the door completely open. The bananas dried out quite quickly. It turned out to be a good addition to muesli, yogurt, morning oatmeal and just a very tasty crunch! Everyone at home is delighted and asks why I haven’t done this before) Thanks for the recipe!

Is it possible to cook such chips without baking, in an electric dryer?
