STEP 1
Let's prepare the ingredients.
STEP 2
First, let's prepare the syrup. Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar and citric acid.
STEP 3
Place the saucepan on the fire and bring the syrup to a boil, cook it for 1-2 minutes and remove from the heat.
STEP 4
Wash the apples and, if desired, cut out the core using a special knife (I did not do this). Cut the apples into circles about 1-2 mm thick.
STEP 5
Place the chopped apples in warm syrup and leave for about 10 minutes. By the way, if all the apples don’t fit in at once, then we do it in stages.
STEP 6
We fish out the apple slices from the syrup and place them on paper towels to get rid of any remaining syrup.
STEP 7
Place the dried apples on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
STEP 8
Dry the apples at 60-80 C for 1-2 hours. During drying, we do not close the oven door completely, but prop it up so that there is a small opening for steam to escape (I use a wooden spoon for this purpose). We select the degree of drying of apples to suit your taste; you can dry them until crisp, or you can leave them slightly flexible.
STEP 9
Let the apple chips cool and serve. Store the apple chips in a container with a lid.
