  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make turkey kebab in the oven? To begin, prepare all the necessary ingredients. First prepare the marinade. You can use any dark or light honey, but it is preferable that it be liquid. If you have candied honey, first melt it in the microwave or in a water bath and cool to room temperature.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a bowl, combine liquid honey, mayonnaise, mustard, barbecue spices and salt. If you use ready-made spice mixtures, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting the dish.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

    Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now prepare the rest of the ingredients. For barbecue, you can use turkey fillet from the breast or thigh. Breast kebab will turn out a little more tender, but you need to make sure that the meat does not dry out and become tough. You can use any apple; I used the sweet and sour Granny Smith variety.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Wash the turkey fillet, dry it and cut it into medium pieces so that it is convenient to thread the meat onto skewers. I had two long fillets, so I simply cut them into medallions about 1.5cm thick.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the marinade over the meat and mix thoroughly.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cover the bowl with film and marinate the meat in the refrigerator for 2 hours, or preferably overnight.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pre-soak wooden skewers in cold water for 30 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Wash the dried apricots and prunes, add hot water and leave for 20 minutes to swell. Then drain the water and lightly squeeze the moisture out of the dried fruits.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Wash the apple, remove the core and cut into medium slices. If you wish, you can cut off the skin or leave it on.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Thread turkey fillet, apple slices, dried apricots and prunes onto skewers one by one.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Place the skewers on a baking dish lined with foil or parchment and brush with the remaining marinade in the bowl. Bake the turkey skewers in an oven preheated to 190°C for about 40 minutes until the meat is cooked. The exact baking time depends on your oven and the size of the meat pieces. Periodically brush the kebabs with marinade from a bowl or from the bottom of the pan.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

    Bon appetit!

Original serving of meat in the form of kebabs! Turkey kebab in the oven turns out no worse than on the grill or campfire. Of course, there is not enough atmosphere and “smokiness”, but the result is quite worthy! If you don’t have the time or opportunity to get out into nature or the countryside, but you want kebabs, a great idea would be to cook them right at home in the oven. The main thing is a good marinade and knowing all the nuances and secrets of cooking. And the original presentation of meat will delight both family and guests. Excellent recipe, incredible kebab!
