  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a turkey drumstick in foil? Prepare the necessary ingredients. The size and weight of the drumsticks depends on the age of the bird. I had one drumstick weighing a little over 1 kg. But you can replace it with two weighing 500 g. It doesn’t matter. Instead of individual spices, you can use a pre-made turkey spice blend (or chicken in a pinch). But keep in mind that the finished mixture already contains salt and pepper, so you need to add additional salt/pepper to the meat with caution.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the turkey drumstick and dry it with paper towels or napkins.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add paprika, curry, dry garlic, ground pepper and salt to the melted butter. Mix everything. You can replace dry garlic with 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic, passed through a press. However, it is worth considering that pieces of fresh garlic may burn after unrolling the foil. Therefore, when baking meat in a marinade, I usually replace fresh garlic with dry garlic. I use fresh cloves for stuffing.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Rub the drumstick with oil marinade and spices and leave for 20-30 minutes. Gradually the oil will begin to harden and the marinade will stick tightly to the drumstick.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the turkey on a large double sheet of foil, coat with any remaining marinade from the plate, and wrap tightly to prevent any juices from escaping during baking.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the drumstick in foil on a baking sheet or in a baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 180-190°C for 1 hour.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then unfold the foil and bake the drumstick for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. If desired, you can drizzle the juice from the bottom of the pan over the meat.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Transfer the finished shin to a plate, cut into portions and serve with a side dish. I served the turkey with a side dish of stewed red cabbage and plums. Bon appetit!

Check out the recipe for roasting turkey drumsticks in cream. Both recipes are equally good.

My daughter asked me to cook a turkey (after watching enough of some foreign cartoons). I really liked this idea, I like turkey meat much more than chicken (in my childhood, my father perfectly baked a whole turkey in the oven). I chose a recipe for turkey drumsticks in foil in the oven; I liked it because of the minimal set of ingredients and the presence of the spices included in it at home. I had two turkey drumsticks weighing just under a kilo. I rubbed them with oil and spices, wrapped them in foil and baked them in the oven. I baked it for a long time, didn’t keep track of the time, checked the readiness several times by unrolling the foil and piercing the turkey with a knife. It turned out great! I don’t cook turkey meat often, but when searching for a suitable recipe here on the website, I found many simple methods that I wanted to try. Thanks for the good recipes and increased culinary motivation!

Great option for a quick recipe! It looks very elegant and the smell when baking is incredibly appetizing! Convenient when time is short - you don’t actually need to marinate, the preparation time was minimal) I used raw garlic, I didn’t regret it) it goes well with cranberry sauce) thanks for the recipe!

You need to keep it in the oven for more time. Otherwise it won’t bake. In total, I increased the cooking time by 40 minutes. And yes, it’s delicious. marinade is good)
