The filling also contains a lot of vegetables, sour cream sauce and fried potatoes. It won’t be difficult to prepare it at home, and the shawarma will turn out tastier than store-bought.

You don't have to add potatoes, just leave the mushrooms. But they go very well together, so I cooked with potatoes. Wash and dry all vegetables and herbs.

    Peel the potatoes and cut into thin strips.

    Gently rinse the mushrooms and place on a paper towel. Cut them into thin slices.

    Heat vegetable oil for frying in a frying pan and add potatoes to it. Fry it over medium heat. Do not turn frequently to allow the slices to brown. At the same time, heat the oil in another frying pan and add the onion. Fry the onion until translucent, then add the mushrooms. Salt the potatoes and mushrooms, pepper, stir. Fry everything until cooked, potatoes for about 15 minutes, mushrooms for 5.

Today I prepared meat-free shawarma for my daughters. I took the necessary ingredients: thin pita bread, tomato, cucumber, potatoes, white cabbage, processed cheese, green onions and mayonnaise. I didn't add mushrooms. Peeled the potatoes, cut them into thin strips and fried them in a frying pan. I did not cover it with a lid so that the potatoes would be crispy. She called tomatoes and cucumbers into slices, and cabbage into strips. Cut the processed cheese into cubes and chop the green onions. I took the pita bread and brushed it with mayonnaise along its short side, slightly moving away from the edge. I put cucumber slices and tomatoes on top, then shredded cabbage with melted cheese and fried potatoes on top. And rolled it into a tight roll. Add a little oil to the pan and fry on both sides. My daughters appreciated the dish and ate it in one sitting. And it really turned out tasty and juicy. And I finished it in less than an hour. Every time I become convinced that there is no better home-cooked food in the world.
