Puff pastry pie with minced meat and potatoes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a puff pastry pie with minced meat and potatoes? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance. The easiest and fastest way to prepare a delicious tea pie is to use ready-made puff pastry. But it is easy to prepare at home. Pour a glass of warm water (30-40 degrees) into a bowl, add salt, sugar, beat in a chicken egg, pour in vinegar and stir until smooth.
STEP 2
Place the sifted wheat flour into the bowl with the liquid. Be sure to sift the flour, so it will be saturated with oxygen, and the baked goods will turn out more tender and airy.
STEP 3
You need to add flour in parts, stirring the dough with a spoon each time. When the dough becomes difficult to knead with a spoon, place it on the table and continue kneading with your hands, adding flour. You may need a little more or less flour, since flour has different densities. The consistency of the dough should be smooth and elastic.
STEP 4
Divide the dough into four parts, roll each of them into a thin rectangular layer, generously grease with softened butter. Place the layers of dough on top of each other and roll out with a rolling pin. Fold the layer in half and roll it out again, repeat these steps two more times. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for a couple of hours to chill.
STEP 5
In the meantime, you can prepare the pie filling. Wash, peel, coarsely chop the potatoes and boil in salted water. Make mashed potatoes and let them cool slightly.
STEP 6
You can use ready-made minced meat or make your own from meat. It is better to take pork and beef in equal parts, together they are in perfect harmony, juicy pork will perfectly complement dry beef. Rinse the meat and grind it into minced meat using a meat grinder.
STEP 7
Peel the onion and finely chop it with a knife. Place it in a bowl with minced meat, add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir.
STEP 8
Fry the minced meat with onions in heated vegetable oil for 15 minutes.
STEP 9
Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Immediately turn on the oven to 180 degrees so that it has time to warm up. Cut the finished dough into two equal pieces and roll each of them into a rectangle. If you use ready-made puff pastry, then for a large pie you can use two sheets of dough, for a small one - cut one into two parts. Place mashed potatoes on one layer of dough and spread it evenly over the entire surface, not reaching the edges of the dough.
STEP 10
Place fried minced meat on top. Cover the filling layer with a second layer of dough and carefully pinch the edges.
STEP 11
Make a few pricks on top of the pie with a fork. Brush the pie with beaten egg yolk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the pie for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
STEP 12
Enjoy your tea!
