Pie with red fish in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make shortcrust pastry pie with red fish? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Remove the butter in advance so that it becomes soft.
STEP 2
Mix flour with baking powder and sift into a bowl of suitable size. Sifting will saturate the flour with oxygen, and the dough will be more tender and crumbly.
STEP 3
Place soft butter into the sifted flour. Quickly grind everything into crumbs.
STEP 4
Beat the egg with salt and cold water until smooth.
STEP 5
Combine the beaten egg with the butter-flour mixture. Stir first with a spoon, then quickly knead the dough with your hands.
STEP 6
The dough is soft, pliable, and does not stick to your hands.
STEP 7
Line the bottom of a baking dish with a diameter of 18-20 cm with parchment. Distribute the dough over the bottom and sides of the mold, forming sides 3-4 cm high. Place the mold with the dough in the refrigerator.
STEP 8
Make the filling. I took salmon that had been skinned and boned beforehand. Any red fish fillet will do. You can also use any type of cheese or limit yourself to just one.
STEP 9
Cut the fish fillet into small cubes. Add salt, basil and Italian herbs, stir. Use any spices you wish that are suitable for the fish. When adding salt, consider the taste of the cheese.
STEP 10
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
STEP 11
Beat the egg with cream until smooth.
STEP 12
Add grated cheese to the resulting mixture and stir.
STEP 13
Combine the creamy filling with the prepared fish, mix well.
STEP 14
Remove the pan with the dough from the refrigerator. Fill the dough with filling.
STEP 15
Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180C for about 30 minutes. If the edges of the pie are browned and the consistency of the filling has become dense, then the pie is ready. Baking times and conditions may vary. Focus on the operation of your oven.
STEP 16
Cool the finished pie slightly, cut into portions and serve. Bon appetit!
