  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a simple jam pie in a slow cooker? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is better to take thick jam, but if you have liquid, then add a couple of teaspoons of starch. If you use only yolks instead of eggs, the dough will be softer. In this case, reduce the flour by 50-60 grams. Margarine can be replaced with butter.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First, beat the eggs and sugar with a mixer.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add margarine, cut into pieces, to the egg-sugar mixture and mix.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add baking soda and stir. Read about all the nuances of working with soda in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add sifted flour. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with oxygen, and the dough will turn out more tender. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Knead the dough. You should get a dense lumpy mass. I chop the dough with a knife.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Form the dough into a log, wrap it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. You can knead the dough differently: sift the flour onto the table, make a well in the middle and pour in the eggs and sugar. Knead the dough, gradually adding flour from the inner edge. Then add margarine and chop the dough with a knife.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

After half an hour, take out the dough and divide it into two unequal parts (3/4 and 1/4). Line the bottom of the multicooker bowl with two strips of parchment to make the pie easier to take out. Roll out most of the dough into a circle slightly larger than the diameter of the multicooker bowl and place it on the bottom, forming small sides.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Spread jam on the dough. The jam level should be below the sides of the pie.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place the remaining dough on top of the jam, tearing it into pieces. You can also roll the dough into balls or simply grate it. Bake on the “Baking” setting for 1 hour. The exact time and mode depend on your oven. You can read more about this in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Let the finished pie sit in the bowl for 5-10 minutes until the dough sets, then remove it. If desired, sprinkle the pie with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!

I love this kind of baking. It's simple, quick and very tasty. I made a pie with jam in a slow cooker according to this recipe. I kneaded the dough as described in the recipe and put it in the refrigerator. The multicooker bowl was completely lined with parchment paper. I laid out most of the dough, forming the sides. I did this with wet hands as the dough is sticky. I put a layer of jam, I have thick apricot jam with gelatin. On top I tore pieces of dough from a smaller piece of dough. I have the same brand of multicooker as the author. I cooked it in the “baking” mode for 40 minutes with the valve open. The shortcrust pastry pie came out incredibly aromatic and tasty. The dough is tender and soft, there is plenty of filling. Great recipe! Many thanks to the author!

Probably a sweet pie? But it looks beautiful. And the idea with balls is very interesting, I’ll definitely take note of it. My grandmother sprinkled these pies with a mixture of flour and sunflower oil; the result was a light sprinkling that slightly compensated for the sweet taste of the jam.

It's a pity there is no photo of a piece (of the cut pie). I have always been interested in how a jam pie baked in a slow cooker behaves after cutting. This is not the first time I’ve seen a baking recipe where the main photo shows a whole pie or cake. A natural question arises: why don’t the authors post a cross-sectional photo of the baked goods? Is there something ugly there?

This is one of my favorite pies; in general, I love shortbread pies with jam or fruits. Although I bake biscuits more often.
