STEP 1

How to make meatballs with cabbage? Prepare ingredients for cooking. Wash and peel the vegetables. You can buy ready-made minced meat or prepare mixed minced meat at home - pork and beef. Remove the top leaves from the cabbage.

Finely chop the cabbage and peeled onions.
STEP 3

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 4

Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and simmer the vegetables over medium heat until half cooked.
STEP 5

After the water has boiled, cook thoroughly washed rice for 7-8 minutes, without rinsing, discard in a colander, and let the water drain. Let it cool down.
STEP 6

Make minced meat. Add an egg, salt, a pinch of nutmeg to it, mix everything well.
STEP 7

In a large deep container, thoroughly mix the cooled rice, stewed vegetables, minced meat until smooth, and beat it against the walls of the container. After this, the minced meat binds well.
STEP 8

With wet hands, form balls - future meatballs.
STEP 9

Fry the meatballs on both sides until their sides are browned. If the pan is large and deep, use it. But I couldn’t fit all the meatballs into one layer; there were a lot of them. In this case, take a cauldron or a duck pot and fill the meatballs halfway with water.
STEP 10

Let the contents of the cauldron boil, add tomato, spices, pepper and salt.
STEP 11

Simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes, add sour cream to the sauce and cook the dish for another 10 minutes.
