  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make lazy cabbage rolls with minced meat in the oven? Prepare the products according to the list. You can use any minced meat. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content. Rice - your choice, round, long or steamed. You can replace tomato paste with tomato puree.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Let's do the rice first. Rinse it well, in at least five waters, fill it with cold filtered water in a ratio of 1:2, add a little salt and put it on fire.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

When the rice boils, turn off the heat, cover with a lid and leave to steam. This way we bring the rice to half-cookedness. If you add raw rice to the minced meat, it will take on too much moisture and the cabbage rolls will come out dry. If you use fully cooked rice, then the moisture from the minced meat, on the contrary, will not be absorbed, and the cabbage rolls may fall apart.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Meanwhile, cut the cabbage into cubes or thin strips.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the cabbage in a saucepan and pour boiling water over it to remove any excess bitterness. For five to ten minutes, depending on the cabbage. I have a fresh one, I left it for five.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

After the required time, drain the cabbage in a colander. Save the water, you will need it for the sauce.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Peel the onion and cut into cubes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

If there is any water left in the rice, drain it. Place cabbage, rice, onion and minced meat in a bowl. Salt, pepper, season to taste. Mix the minced meat well.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Start making cabbage rolls. If suddenly the minced meat does not stick together well, add a raw egg to it. At this stage, you can freeze raw cabbage rolls and, if necessary, use them in the form of preparations. Just pour sauce over slightly defrosted cabbage rolls and place in the oven.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Now the cabbage rolls need to be fried. You can skip this step, but it will make the cabbage rolls cuter. Fry the formed cabbage rolls, having previously rolled them in flour, in vegetable oil until golden brown.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

While the cabbage rolls are frying, prepare the sauce. To do this, mix sour cream with tomato paste.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Dilute the tomato-sour cream mixture with the remaining water from the cabbage or just boiling water until it becomes a liquid sauce. Salt and pepper to taste.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Place the fried cabbage rolls in a baking dish and pour over the prepared sauce.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Bake the lazy cabbage rolls in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 45 minutes until browned. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.

I’m not a lazy person, but sometimes I cook lazy cabbage rolls like this, because they’re delicious! You can also cook them in a frying pan.

The whole family loves lazy cabbage rolls. Although, it seems to me, it’s hard to call them lazy, the cooking process is multi-stage) I didn’t pour boiling water over the cabbage, I did it a little differently. It was easier for me to chop the cabbage coarsely, add water and bring to a boil. Then the cabbage was left for 10-15 minutes and drained in a colander. After this, the softened cabbage was ground in a blender along with the onion into homogeneous “slivers.” I added additional carrots to the minced meat, grated on a medium grater, and some ground crackers. But I forgot to boil the rice, so I had to add an egg to the minced meat for stickiness and increase the amount of filling so that the rice absorbed the necessary liquid. To fill it, I used homemade ketchup instead of tomato paste; the mixture turned out to be very tasty) Frying really gave it more aesthetics. The dish took longer to bake because of the rice. The result was delicious and satisfying lazy cabbage rolls! And most importantly, thanks to cabbage, cabbage rolls turn out to be very juicy, and children willingly eat cabbage in this form. But they remove the “skin” from ordinary cabbage rolls)) I advise housewives to prepare this wonderful dish!
