Galette with cherries and nuts
Wonderful fruit pie with choux pastry. It is done very easily and at the same time quickly. The dough has a neutral taste, so it can be made with completely different fillings, both salty and sweet.

Preparing ingredients for making biscuits with cherries and nuts

Mix the sifted flour with baking powder and salt. Add vegetable oil, mix everything thoroughly. Pour in boiling water and stir everything quickly until the water cools down. Knead a soft, elastic dough and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
STEP 3
While the dough is cooling, prepare the filling. Add starch to washed and pitted cherries and mix gently.
STEP 4
After the dough has cooled, roll it into a circle and spread the filling evenly in the middle. Sprinkle sugar and nuts on top and pinch the edges in a circle. Hello! I saw your very interesting recipe for Galette with cherries and nuts and decided to try it) I prepared a cherry galette according to your recipe. Thank you for the detailed description, everything is very accessible and understandable. The preparation was absolutely effortless. The choux pastry turned out the first time, very tender, elastic and pliable. It’s a pleasure to work with such dough) I used frozen cherries for the filling, since it’s not the season right now. I made the cherry filling on the stove, otherwise the frozen cherries would have leaked during baking. I mixed cherries straight from the freezer with sugar and starch. Boil over low heat until thickened. The filling turned out to be thick, very tasty, with a slight sourness. Since my child doesn’t really like nuts, I cheated a little))) I made a nut streusel and sprinkled it on the filling. And the child ate such a tasty crumb with pleasure. For the streusel, I combined 1 pinch of salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp flour, 10 g butter, 15 g chopped walnuts and crushed it into crumbs (streusel) with my hands. The galette with cherries and nuts turned out great. There are a lot of fillings. The cherry flavor was perfectly complemented by nuts. The dough turned out thin and soft. Thank you very much for an interesting recipe for cherry pie in a new way! I recommend everyone to cook this recipe! Very simple and fast from affordable products!
