Jellied pie with cherries and sour cream in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make cherry jellied pie? Prepare all the ingredients needed for the filling. If your cherries are frozen, transfer them to a colander, which you place on a bowl. Do not pour out the juice formed from defrosting; it will be needed.
STEP 2
Transfer the berries to a suitable container, add sugar and cornstarch. If you use potato starch, reduce the amount by half.
STEP 3
Mix well. Set aside, stirring occasionally. The sugar crystals should melt completely.
STEP 4
Prepare the ingredients for the dough. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.
STEP 5
Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath. How to melt butter in a water bath? You will need two different containers. Pour water into a large one and place it on the stove. Place the smaller one on top so that it is about half immersed in water. Place the butter cut into pieces into it. Under the influence of boiling water it will begin to melt. Stir the oil to speed up the process. Once the butter has completely dissolved, turn off the heat.
STEP 6
Combine eggs with sour cream, sugar (or a sweetener that is not afraid of heat treatment). Beat with a mixer until smooth. The higher the fat content of sour cream, the tastier it will be. Be sure to rinse chicken eggs well before using them, as even seemingly clean shells can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush.
STEP 7
Sift flour together with baking powder. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with oxygen and the baked goods will turn out airy, fluffy, and will rise well during baking. Pour the flour into the egg mixture and beat again with the mixer at low speed.
STEP 8
Pour melted butter into the dough. Stir. The consistency of the dough should be smooth, without lumps, and resemble pancake dough in thickness.
STEP 9
Lightly grease a heat-resistant round pan with refined vegetable oil. Pour the dough and smooth the surface.
STEP 10
Arrange the cherries evenly on top of the dough. Carefully pour the remaining cherry juice onto the dough, trying to distribute it evenly throughout the pie.
STEP 11
Bake the pie for about 30-40 minutes. Focus on the features of your oven. How to check the doneness of baked goods? When the top layer is browned, pierce the product with a wooden skewer in several places. If it comes out dry, then the pie is ready. Remove from the oven, cool, then transfer from pan to plate. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top through a fine strainer and serve. Bon appetit!
