Stir very well to remove any lumps! You can use a blender. Salt, pepper, add your favorite spices and herbs. (One of my favorite spices lately is Svan salt, but I still need to find it, and you can get by with any other seasonings).

    Cut the potatoes into slices. (Berner's grater appears again)

    Also cut the tomatoes into thin slices. If you don't have a Berner grater, use a sharp knife.
