Assorted meats in lavash bags in the oven

The original design and taste of the dish will create a sensation among the guests! The dish is very filling, aromatic and delicious! It takes relatively little time to prepare and is not very difficult. It is important to pay attention to the pita bread - it should be fresh, pliable, then it will be easier to form bags with filling from it. You can get creative and add potatoes to the filling, which some housewives do, although this dish is prepared without them. To do this, you need to wash the peeled potatoes (300 g) and cut them into cubes the same size as meat and eggplant. Then the potatoes need to be fried in a separate frying pan and added to the filling at the moment when it is time to place it on the lavash sheets. In our family, we have tried both options. The men, of course, liked the potato version better! :)))

Step-by-step preparation

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Products for cooking. Lamb, pork, beef tenderloins (it is better to take young meat to make the dish juicy and tender) are thoroughly washed. Onions, carrots, eggplants are peeled and washed.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First, cut the meat into small pieces.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Fry the meat in a hot frying pan in olive oil until cooked. Do not cover with a lid, stir occasionally, making sure that the meat does not burn. It is important not to overdry the meat, otherwise the dish will turn out a little dry.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the carrots into small cubes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then cut the peeled eggplant and onion into small cubes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add carrots and onions to the meat in the pan and simmer a little.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add eggplant to the meat. Simmer over low heat until done. Then pepper the dish, add salt and seasonings to taste. Mix all this and simmer a little more.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

We cut one of the pita breads into ribbons of approximately the same width according to the number of servings (the number of servings is supposed to be the same number of ribbons) in order to tie the rest of the pita breads with them.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the filling in the center of the unfolded pita bread.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

We wrap the lavash in a bag and tie a lavash ribbon at the top to keep the filling inside. In principle, the dish is already ready. But if you put it in the oven, preheated to 160 degrees, for 10-15 minutes, the pita bread will crisp gently. Some housewives advise keeping this dish in the oven for up to 30 minutes, but it seemed to us that in this case the pita bread dries out and turns out too rough and dry.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

The original Meat in Lavash dish is ready! You can serve it with a salad of fresh vegetables and herbs. Invite your family and guests and try this delicious dish!

Oops, instead of rating “for”, I think I accidentally clicked “no”. Forgive my carelessness. I'm just so surprised that this recipe wasn't on the front page of the new recipes announcement!! Or have I missed something again... Irochka, accept my admiration for your extraordinary “twist” of this bag. I’ve simply never seen anything like this before! I love eggplants, I really love meat, and lavash is one of the few dough products that I can afford. Thank you for the idea and for my discovery of this recipe.

Thank you for such a warm comment, it’s nice! Regarding the voting: I received a message that you voted FOR this recipe, so your worries about the fact that you missed the buttons are in vain! The idea with the bag is not mine, I saw it on the Internet. Previously, I only wrapped pancakes with filling for Maslenitsa in a similar way. I also love meat and eggplant, they go well together in this recipe. One of the features of this recipe is that there are 3 types of meat. By the way, if for reasons of diet or some other reasons you do not want to put pork in the filling, you can replace it with other, more dietary meat. I'm glad that you and I are on the same page! Bon appetit!
