    Wash the lemon well, scald with boiling water, dry with a paper towel. Grate the zest on a fine grater, but do not touch the white part, otherwise the baked goods will taste bitter.

    Add sour cream, lemon zest and a tablespoon of lemon juice to the butter mixture.

    Beat in the eggs. Beat the mixture with a mixer until it turns white and bubbles appear on the surface.

If the apples you use are sour, do not add lemon, otherwise the cake may be too sour. I chose sweet red apples for the filling; with them the pie turned out sweeter with a slight citrus sourness and aroma.

Today I wanted apple pie, but there was no way to bake it in the oven. Therefore, I used the recipe for apple pie in a slow cooker. The recipe uses cinnamon and lemon as flavorings. This is certainly a great combination and I absolutely love lemon baked goods. But today I wanted to experiment with the flavoring) And I added young mint, 10 large lemon mint leaves and a couple of peppermint sprigs for a “chill.” In order for the mint to disperse better in the dough, beat one egg, half a glass of sugar and mint separately in a blender. The result was a homogeneous green mass, which I added to the eggs beaten in the usual way. Everything else is according to the recipe. I also baked it for 40 minutes and let the cake sit for 10 minutes with the lid open. I think it’s good to make upside-down pies in a slow cooker, because you still won’t get a golden brown crust, but the bottom part will look beautiful. Next time I’ll pour a little more sugar on the bottom for more caramel) The pie turned out very tall, fluffy, porous! It's quite juicy, certainly not dry. The color is greenish because of the mint. I liked the taste; apples add juiciness to the pie. At the same time, the sugar is in moderation, not cloying. I will definitely bake this pie again, with lemon and something else delicious)

A very tasty and aromatic pie was made in a slow cooker! I just beat the egg whites separately. I also replaced the sour cream (out of stock) with yogurt with curd cheese.
