Dishes with apricots
The British believe that dreams of apricots mean good luck - nothing lifts the mood in the morning and brings happiness throughout the day like a spoonful of sunny jam on a warm muffin with a cup of tea! Dried, this fruit is called differently: apricot (when it is dried entirely ), dried apricots (this is when halves are dried) and kaisa (whole dried fruit, but without seeds). Fresh, this sweet and sour miracle is used as food just like that, or they make simple and very tasty fruit salads, freshly squeezed juice at home, and add it to jelly. In baking, the fruit is simply irreplaceable, especially for summer homemade recipes, and even for winter ones in its dried “guise” (to remember summer). Pies are prepared with it (charlottes, tarts, scone-pies, galettes), it is added to muffins and cupcakes, it turns into a fabulous surprise in casseroles and cheesecakes... Preparing for the winter is a separate apricot topic. There are thousands of recipes with apricots for the winter - these are preserves, jams, marshmallows. These fruits are preserved in light syrup, in the form of compote, golden slices in homemade jam, and boiled to a thick, viscous jam with sourness. Then this jam becomes the main component of cakes and mixed pies, creating shades of taste, as well as the filling for pies, buns and puff pastries. The bones are not thrown away - they are ground into flour. It is a good substitute for almond in many desserts.
