  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make apricots in syrup for the winter without sterilization? Prepare the necessary products. Sort the apricots, selecting spoiled and wrinkled fruits. Wash them under running water, then dry with regular or paper towels. Cut each apricot in half and remove the pits. And only then weigh them. The recipe is designed for 3 kg of peeled fruits.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Bring two liters of water to a boil in a large enamel basin. Then pour eight hundred grams of sugar into it and, stirring, wait until it is completely dissolved.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a suitable bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place peeled apricots in a bowl of boiling water.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the previously squeezed lemon juice into the bowl with the apricots.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Stir the apricots in a bowl with a wooden spoon and boil them for about seven minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Carefully place the apricots into sterile jars, ensuring that no syrup gets into them. How to sterilize jars? You can put jars with a small amount of water in the microwave for 5-7 minutes. You can also sterilize them in the oven at 100 degrees for about 30 minutes, or hold them over steam, or pour boiling water over them. Boil the lids for 10 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fill all jars three-quarters full with apricots, leaving room for syrup.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover all apricot jars with sterile lids.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Bring the syrup in the basin to a boil one more time, then pour it hot into all the jars to the very top.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Close the jars with lids very well and tightly.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Turn the jars over and place them on the lids. This way you will check whether the jars are tightly closed - if not, then syrup will begin to ooze from them. Leave the jars in this position until they cool completely; at the same time, the lids are additionally sterilized. You can also cover the jars with a blanket.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Remove the cooled jars for storage in a dark and cool place.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

This quantity of products yielded 5 liter cans of apricots.

Apricots in syrup for the winter without sterilization are a great way to preserve sunny fruits. For me, the most important thing here is that there is no need to sterilize, I don’t like it) At first I thought it was something like a compote. But in the end it turned out something between compote and jam. These slices can be used as a filling in a pie, for desserts, or just eaten. My apricots were small and not very dense. Therefore, I cooked them in syrup for literally two minutes so that they would not boil over. In general, the entire preparation process must be done quickly so that microbes do not penetrate into the jars. Therefore, I boiled everything, poured it in, and covered it with sterile lids. I liked the blank, it will definitely come in handy in winter)
