Vegan pancakes with turmeric and onions without eggs

STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients. The composition of this can be called the most minimal and the most budget-friendly; the ingredients will definitely always be found in the refrigerator in every family. If you manage to use fresh potatoes to prepare potato pancakes, then, naturally, the products from them will turn out more tender and tasty.
STEP 2

Wash the potatoes, peel them and grate them on a medium grater. To prevent the minced potatoes from darkening, you can first grate the onions and put them in a bowl, and grate the potatoes on top, then the onion juice, getting on the potatoes, will prevent them from darkening. If you don’t want to add onion flavor to potato pancakes, then after grating, you need to immediately squeeze out the juice from the minced potatoes.
STEP 3

However, there is no need to wash the potatoes, since no chicken eggs are added to the minced potatoes; only potato starch and flour will glue the potato dough together. Add spices to taste to the bowl with the minced potatoes: salt and ground black pepper. If desired, you can add other spices; turmeric, for example, is added to obtain a beautiful golden color.
STEP 4

Add grated onions and flour to the minced potatoes. There is no need to be afraid that after the potato juice has been squeezed out that the dough will not stick together, the flour will have enough moisture from the minced potatoes.
STEP 5

Mix the mixture. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. You can use lard instead of butter; the potato pancakes will turn out fattier, juicier and more flavorful.
STEP 6

Place minced potatoes on the heated oil with a tablespoon, forming round pancakes.
STEP 7

Fry potato pancakes without eggs over medium heat so that they are well fried on the inside and do not burn on the outside. Fry the potato pancakes on both sides until golden brown. Remove from the pan onto a paper towel. Let the oil drain and serve with sour cream, mayonnaise, vegetables and fresh herbs.
