STEP 1
How to make stewed beef in the oven? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. To make the meat juicier, it is better to use the pulp of fresh beef or veal. Take any vegetable oil. I have sunflower. You can supplement or replace the vegetable part to your liking.
STEP 2
Wash the meat, be sure to dry it with a paper towel, otherwise excess moisture will not allow it to fry - it will stew. Cut the beef pulp into portions. You can take meat from any part of the carcass. I have the hip part. If you use frozen meat, you must first defrost it properly on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator.
STEP 3
Place meat in a bowl. Sprinkle with paprika, ground coriander, dried herbs, salt and pepper. Pour in lemon juice.
STEP 4
Mix everything thoroughly. Cover the bowl with cling film and marinate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours, or preferably overnight.
STEP 5
Peel the carrots and cut into slices.
STEP 6
Peel the bell pepper from seeds and cut into medium pieces. You should not chop it too finely, otherwise the pepper will spread due to long stewing.
STEP 7
Peel the onion and cut into half rings. Determine the size of the onion according to your taste. If you or your children don't like onions, you can omit them altogether. In addition to onions, you can add other vegetables to your goulash to taste.
STEP 8
Heat 2 tbsp in a frying pan. l. vegetable oil and fry the meat in small portions over high heat until golden brown. At the end, pour in the wine and simmer with the meat for 2 minutes until the alcohol evaporates. Transfer the fried meat along with the sauce into a baking dish.
STEP 9
Add carrots, bell peppers, onions and bay leaves to the meat. Pour in water.
STEP 10
Cover the pan with a lid or tighten it tightly with foil. Simmer the beef in the oven at 120°C for about 2 hours until cooked. The exact baking time depends on the size of the meat pieces and the features of your oven. If necessary, during the stewing process you can add a little more hot water. Bon appetit!
