Snack cake for March 8
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
BASE: For the base you will need two layers of frozen puff pastry.
STEP 2
Place the dough, without defrosting, on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Place the baking sheet with the dough in a cold oven. Bake puff pastries at 180 degrees until golden brown.
STEP 3
Carefully cut the cooled cakes into three parts: the middle part of the cake will be at the bottom of the cake
STEP 4
FILLING No. 1: With red fish.
STEP 5
Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
STEP 6
Remove the skin from the fish and cut into medium cubes. Leave a few thin slices of fish for decoration.
STEP 7
Cut pickled gherkins into small cubes. Chop the dill.
STEP 8
Peel the boiled, cooled eggs and cut into cubes.
STEP 9
Mix fish, cheese, cucumbers, dill, eggs with mayonnaise. Salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 10
Connect the cakes that will go to the bottom. Distribute the salad filling with red fish evenly over the cakes.
STEP 11
Now place the uneven cakes on top, pressing them with your hands; if they break a little, it’s okay.
STEP 12
FILLING No. 2: With smoked fish.
STEP 13
Mix cottage cheese with melted cream cheese and horseradish.
STEP 14
Break the mackerel into pieces, removing the bones.
STEP 15
Grease the cakes with cheese mixture. Place mackerel on top.
STEP 16
Press down lightly with the last puff pastries. Cover with film and place some light weight on top, for example, a light board. Place the fish snack cake in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. You can leave it overnight so that the cakes are well soaked.
STEP 17
DECORATION: Garnish before serving.
STEP 18
To cover the cake, mix two types of cheese: processed cream cheese and curd cheese.
STEP 19
Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the surface and sides of the cake.
STEP 20
Cut the cucumber into thin slices the height of the cake.
STEP 21
Glue the cucumbers to the sides of the cake.
STEP 22
Green peas, green onions and red fish flowers will complement the festive picture.
STEP 23
Here's a cross-section of the cake.
STEP 24
