Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Let's prepare simple products. It is better to take large, fleshy tomatoes. You can take one large bell pepper or two smaller ones. Amount of garlic to your taste.
STEP 2

First of all, let's prepare the tomatoes. You need to make a cross-shaped cut on each fruit, put them in a deep bowl and pour boiling water over them. Leave it like this for 5 minutes. We do this so that the peel can be removed well and easily. Then transfer them to cold, ice-cold water or leave them like that for a little while, they will cool quickly.
STEP 3

Easily remove the top peel and cut the tomatoes into cubes.
STEP 4

Now let's prepare the rest of the vegetables. Cut the onion into small cubes, remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut into cubes as well. Garlic can be passed through a press or finely chopped. I crush each clove with the wide side of the knife and chop it very finely.
STEP 5

In a frying pan in vegetable oil, fry the onion until soft.
STEP 6

Then add the chopped bell pepper and fry until the pepper is half cooked.
STEP 7

Add garlic, mix everything.
STEP 8

Next come the chopped tomatoes, mix.
STEP 9

Salt and pepper to taste, add spices. Mix everything, let our sauce boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
STEP 10

In the finished sauce, use a spoon to make slightly indentations, like the “corners of a square,” and beat an egg into each. Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste. Bring them to readiness over low heat. If you want the yolk to be fully cooked, cover the pan with a lid.
STEP 11

The whites are set, the yolk is jiggling a little - our favorite version of Shakshuka! Breakfast is ready.
STEP 12

Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh herbs and serve. Delicious with white bread. Cook for your health.
