  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make kebab on skewers with potatoes in the oven from pork? Very simple! To begin, prepare the ingredients according to the list. Take pork without bone. Choose the fat content of the meat according to your taste. Neck, shoulder blade, ham will do. I made shish kebab from ham. In addition to regular table vinegar (the percentage is not so important), apple or wine vinegar is also suitable. You can supplement the potatoes with other vegetables, for example, bell pepper, zucchini, etc.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the pork and cut into small portions. You can replace the pork with chicken fillet or turkey fillet. But keep in mind that in this case the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will be different.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the onion into rings. If you have small bulbs, it is better to take 2-3 pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

In a bowl, combine meat, onion, vegetable oil and vinegar. Add the spices and mix everything carefully, trying to keep the onion rings intact. Leave everything to marinate for 2 hours. I did this at room temperature because it was cool. If possible, you can marinate the meat the night before, but do not forget to put it in the refrigerator.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

While the meat is marinating, soak the bamboo skewers in cold water to prevent them from burning during baking. I have skewers 30 cm long. I kept them in water for 2 hours.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Peel the potatoes and cut into slices. Add salt, pepper and stir. Please note that the cooking time depends on the type of potato. Therefore, it is important to choose the right potatoes that are suitable for baking.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Thread the meat and onions, alternating, onto wooden skewers. The amount of meat should be such that the skewers do not bend under its weight. And so that the area with meat does not extend beyond the boundaries of the baking dish. It is optimal to thread 5-6 small pieces of meat onto each skewer.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the potatoes in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Place the skewers on top of the potatoes. Pour the remaining marinade from the meat on top. You can also add a little water.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover the pan with foil. This will keep the meat from drying out and allow the potatoes to finish cooking. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180°C for 35-40 minutes. The exact time depends on how your oven operates. If the potatoes are not ready yet, you can keep the pan covered with foil longer. When the potatoes are ready, remove the foil and return the pan to the oven for another 7-10 minutes until the meat is golden brown. You can turn on the grill mode.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Serve the finished pork skewers with potatoes with a salad of fresh vegetables and fresh herbs. Bon appetit!

I liked the idea of cooking shish kebab with potatoes in the oven using pork. It’s a two-in-one dish that’s also hearty and nutritious. The potatoes are now young, tasty and quickly ready. I decided not to clean it, I just washed it well with a brush. The circles were mixed with vegetable seasoning and pieces of paprika. There was no time to marinate the pork for a long time, so I set aside 30 minutes for it. The skewers were soaked for the same amount of time. I baked it the same way: 40 minutes under foil and 7 minutes under the grill. If you keep it longer, the meat will dry out. Interestingly, in addition to their spices, the potatoes were also saturated with onion and meat juice. It's very tasty, and the potatoes just melt in your mouth! And the meat turned out soft, I didn’t even expect it). I think next time I’ll take fattier pork and make more kebabs. Thank you, the recipe is great! I recommend!
